Our creative director discovered that her great grandfather opened the first Afrikaans school in South Africa in 1882 on a farm in Paarl. As her son started his formal education this year (2010) she decided to link photo references of four generations of her family’s first day at school on school checks and stripes. Inspirational artworks by Marlene Dumas and Kim Lieberman further influenced the range design.
