Inspired by the blue printing process developed by astronomer Sir John Herschel in 1839, we pay homage to him and our unnoticed indigenous grasslands and shrubs. These items are blue printed by using carefully selected plants placed on 100% treated linen and exposed to natural sunlight to capture the delicate nature of these unsung heroes.
The Silver process, a close derivative of the blue printing process, contains silver and iron salts which result in intricate chocolate brown tones. Images are captured with sunlight, washed to remove excess iron salts, and fixed to stabilise the silver salts.
As a result of the unique process and seasonality of the plants available, no two blueprints are alike. Please email us and we will send you images of the prints available.
