Inspiration: James Backhouse (8 July 1794 - 20 January 1869) is the artist behind these designs. Backhouse was a Yorkshire Quaker and botanist from Darlington, England. He traveled to South Africa in 1838 where he spent two years in the Cape Colony, visiting the colonial settlements with the Quakerly message of peace and goodwill.

How are the panels made?
Each panel is crafted on a make-to-order basis. The fabric is kept printed but unfinished until your order is placed, allowing us to complete the final detailing with care. Panels are pigment printed on 100% linen.
Finishing options
Looped finish, ready to hang.
Framed options (10mm profile) available in:
- Natural pine wood
- Teak-stained pine wood
- Black aluminium
Lead times
If your panel is in stock, please allow 2–3 weeks for finishing. If it is out of stock, lead times are approximately 6–8 weeks.
