This cushion is part of the Blagrave's Ferns Collection.
Inspiration: Thomas C. Blagrave, a retired lieutenant colonel from England created this comprehensive study of ferns in South Africa in 1860 and recorded his findings in a unique format. We fell in love with the textures of the photographic paper and the iridescent effect of the film while the fern patterns were kept stark, clean and true to their natural state.
Blagrave writes in the preface of the book: "The illustrations are photo prints made by myself at Wynberg, during the months of May, June and July, 1860, from fresh and dried specimens either of my own or Dr. Pappe's herbarium".

Lead Times
Please allow up to 2 weeks if your chosen cushion is in stock or needs to be dyed, and 6–10 weeks if it is out of stock.
Hand Dyed
Embroidered cushions are hand-dyed to order in your chosen colour.
Each cushion cover is dyed in small batches every Tuesday and Friday for the perfect result.

Printed designs use pigment printing for crisp, lasting colour, while embroidered pieces are hand-dyed with non-toxic dyes for a softer, more textured finish.
