Inspired by the fascinating Cistecephalus fossil, this cushion celebrates the remarkable creatures that once roamed southern Africa. This image shows a Cistecephalus skull impression preserved in a block of siltstone, discovered on the farm Glen Again in the Graaff-Reinet area.

With its distinctive, boxy head and burrowing habits, the Cistecephalus - pronounced “Sista-sef-a-liss” - embodies resilience and adaptation, qualities captured in the textures and patterns of this design. A tribute to the natural history of the Karoo and the extraordinary life it has nurtured.
